Earlier, we confirmed that the Huawei P50 Pro smartphone will launch soon in the global markets on January 12, 2022. However, that’s not the only phone that will make it up to the global consumers because its foldable version – Huawei P50 Pocket will also be coming on the same date in Malaysia.

According to Huawei Malaysia, the P50 Pocket with the vertically foldable phone will launch on January 12. Similar to the P50 Pro, this phone won’t feature the HarmonyOS operating system instead it’ll come with EMUI 12.

Huawei P50 Pocket comes with new features and a foldable design different from the Mate X2 smartphone that folds in sideways. You can call the P50 Pocket a foldable version of its P50 smartphone sibling.

 

Huawei P50 Pocket Specifications:

Huawei P50 Pocket sports a new foldable phone with a flip-style design. There is a 6.9-inch mains display that folds inwards and a 1.04-inch cover screen is placed on the rear to show you notifications and other information on the go. The main display also has up to 120 Hz refresh rate,1440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, 300 Hz touch sampling rate for a better touch experience.

On the other hand, you’ll get a 60Hz refresh rate with a 120Hz touch sampling rate on the cover notification display. The main panel has a Full HD+ resolution (2790 x 1188 pixels), while the cover display has a 340 x 340-pixel resolution.

The P50 Pocket is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 4G processor with octa core architecture (1 x Cortex-X1 at 2.84 GHz + 3 x Cortex-A78 at 2.42 GHz + 4 x Cortex-A55 at 1.8 GHz) and Adreno 660 GPU.

You’ll get a powerful camera user experience featuring a triple camera system consisting of a 40 MP True-Chroma Camera (f/1.8 aperture), 13 MP Ultra-Wide Angle Camera (f/2.2 aperture), and 32 MP Ultra Spectrum Camera (f/1.8 aperture). On the front side, you’ll see a 10.7-megapixel front camera to give you high-quality selfies.

Both of these cameras will bring new camera modes including Slow-Motion, Intelligent Field of View, Portrait, Panorama, Time-Lapse, Moving Picture, Filter, Stickers, Capture Smiles, Mirror Reflection, Audio Control, Timer

Talking about the battery of the phone, the Huawei P50 Pocket will pack a 4000mAh battery that could recharge with a 40W Super fast charger. Currently, the phone is listed on the pre-order page but the price has not been revealed by the company.
