Today, the standard Huawei P50 begins its first sale since its initial launch/announcement on July 29, 2021. The was opened to sale at 10:00 in China via the official Huawei online stores. This phone comes with various new features including the dual ring camera system, center hole punch notch, and more.

The Standard Huawei P50 8GB + 128GB version sale at 4488 yuan (693 USD) and the 8GB + 256GB version is priced at 4988 yuan (771 USD). Both of these phones are opened for purchase via Vmall.

Huawei P50 sports a 6.5-inch OLED screen with a 2700 x 1224p resolution flat panel, 1.07 billion colors, 90Hz refresh rate, 1440Hz high frame rate, and 300Hz touch sampling rate.

This smartphone expands to 156.5mm x 73.8mm x 7.99mm dimensions and weighs around 181g. This phone only has the Snapdragon 888 4G octa-core processor and is pre-packed with HarmonyOS 2.1 operating system with smart features.

Huawei P50 standard version

The P50 is equipped with a rear triple camera system consisted of 50MP True Chroma Camera (Color, f/1.8 aperture), a 13MP ultra-wide camera (f/2.2 aperture), 12MP telephoto (f/3.4 aperture, OIS), support AF.  In addition, there are digital, optical, hybrid zooms, and a LED flash.

On the other hand, the front side of the phone has a 13MP selfie camera (wide-angle, f/2.4) that supports image resolution up to 4160 x 3120 pixels. It also supports WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth 5.2, a 4100 mAh battery with 66W SuperCharge, and a USB Type C port.

Looking at the storage system, the P50 standard variant offers 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128 as well as 256GB internal storage. Additionally, it has a fingerprint sensor, gravity sensor, dual SIM slots, IP68 for splash, water, and dust resistance, and more.

A new Huawei phone with model number NOH-AN50 has been certified with Telecommunication Equipment’s Network Access Managements (TENAA) in China. According to the listing, the phone has a model number that belongs to the Mate 40 series and in a precise manner, it could be called a sibling of Mate 40 Pro.

The certificate reveals that the Huawei NOH-AN50 has 5G network access for faster internet connectivity, which is quite surprising since Huawei cannot use 5G components. On the other hand, the NOH-AN50 comes with a pre-installed HarmonyOS operating system.

Up until the launch of the Huawei P40 series, Huawei has been facing issues in launching new smartphones without 5G components. Therefore, it’s surprising to see Huawei certifying a new product.

Is this Mate 50:

Probably not, because Huawei could launch the Mate 50 series in early 2022. However, an exact date is yet to be announced. However, there’s more that we need to learn on this matter.

Derek Yu, President of Huawei CB for Central and Eastern Europe, Northern Canada & Turkey confirmed that Huawei will launch a new Mate phone next year (2022). This is quite a huge confirmation as all of the consumers are wondering, what Huawei has to offer this year in the Mate segment.

The question took place after several reports hint that Huawei has dropped plans to release the Mate 50 series this year due to U.S. sanctions and their effect in terms of supply chain as well as a shortage of components. Therefore, Huawei is facing hard time in producing new smartphones.

However, there are also some inputs that reveal the phone maker has been trying hard to resolve such component shortage issues and overcome the current challenges. That’s why Huawei has delayed the current launch plans for the new Mate 50 series and delayed it until 2022.

Meanwhile, the Chinese tech maker as a new model that may unveil this month in China as Huawei Mate V, it’s another foldable phone but with a new clamshell design. This new Mate phone will resemble the same old flip phone era and bring you a new kind of user experience.
