Huawei P40 Pro getting March 2021 security improvement via new update

After EMUI 11, HarmonyOS is Huawei’s self-developed distributed operating system on which every Huawei existing device users wants to shift. At the moment, the HarmonyOS developer beta program is going on for devices including P40, Mate 30, and MatePad Pro models.

In the recent past, the Huawei P40 lineup was also a part of the EMUI 11 program. After completing its beta activity, these device users received the EMUI 11 major upgrades in the Chinese market as well as globally.

New EMUI 11 OS skin allows the users to experience the latest set of features such as smart always-on display, smart themes, better animations, improved user interface, and more.

Now, Huawei has started sending a new software update for the Huawei P40 Pro smartphones. This update mainly installs the latest security patch released in March 2021, which fixes different levels of exploits and issues to defend the device against threats.

  • The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
    EMUI version and size may vary.
  • Maintain enough battery and storage on your device.

New EMUI version:

  • Huawei P40 Pro smartphone getting EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.180 with an update size of 282 MB.

Changelog:

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in March 2021.

March 2021 Security Patch Details: This security patch fixes 2 critical, 13 high levels, and 132 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
