Huawei P30, P30 Pro, and Honor View 20 added in YouTube Signature Devices list

YouTube Signature Devices are capable of delivering a best-in-class YouTube experience by combining next-generation technologies, video performance, and reliability. With a Signature Device, users can enjoy vivid HDR videos, immersive 360 videos, and fast video load times – all while using less bandwidth.

YouTube recently added the Huawei P30, Huawei P30 Pro, and Honor View 20 in the YouTube Signature Devices list.

To qualify as a Signature Device, a phone must support high dynamic range, high frame rate, reliable DRM performance, 4K decoding, and use next-generation video codecs.

Smartphones on this list must support the six following technologies:

• 4K decoding: While some devices display 4K on their screens, 4K decoding ensures that you’ll see videos in high resolution and stunning clarity on VR, delivering riveting experiences.
• High frame rate: Enjoy gaming, sports, and action videos without missing a beat. Support for high frame rate (anything greater than 60 frames per second) means you get super smooth video playback.
• Next generation video codecs: Watch high-resolution videos on YouTube while using up to 30% less bandwidth. 2019 Signature Devices are built with hardware VP9 profile 2 decoding, an advanced video codec technology.
• Reliable DRM performance: From YouTube TV to rent movies, Signature Devices seamlessly stream premium content without disrupting your viewing experience.

There are a total of 32 YouTube Signature Devices right now, and nine of them are Huawei phones. These include the Huawei P30 Pro, Huawei P30, Honor View 20, Huawei Mate 20 X, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Mate 20, Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei P20, and Huawei Mate 10 Pro.
