From 13 April to 15 April, Huawei celebrated OpenEuler Developer Day 2022 in China. At the event, Huawei’s Vice President of Kunpeng Computing Domain and Director of the OpenEuler Community – Jiang Dayong announced the latest progress made by the Huawei OpenEuler community.
Last September, Huawei upgraded the Euler server operating system to an operating system for digital infrastructure. Huawei said it would manufacture two open-source operating systems, HarmonyOS and Euler.
At the conference, Jiang Dayong revealed that the Huawei OpenEuler open source community now has developed 330 partners and 8,403 developers. At present, the cumulative installed capacity of OpenEuler is 1.3 million+ sets, which has passed the ecological inflection point.
Further, he said it is expected to reach 2 million sets in the year 2022. However, the OpenEuler is the No. 1 new market share in 2021 in government markets, operators, finance, and other industries.
This year, the OpenEuler community will collaborate with multiple universities to develop talent said, Jiang. Huawei and Euler’s industry partners will jointly invest 100 million yuan to accelerate the development of Euler’s talent.
At present, OpenEuler 22.03 LTS was officially released, and it is also the first full-fledged landscape version jointly created by the community. It supports multiple chip architectures, such as x86, ARM, and RISC-V as well as four scenarios of server, cloud computing, edge computing, and embedded.
