Huawei Nova Y90 obtains first update with camera and security optimizations

Huawei has begun rolling out the new update for the Huawei Nova Y90 smartphone that includes camera optimization and July 2022 security patch.

Since its launch in July this year, the Nova y90 is now receiving the first software update. The upgrade addressed quite a few issues and revamp the camera system that we will discuss here.

The company pushes the new firmware with EMUI 12 version number 12.0.1.138 (C432E1R1P2). Notably, the package size of the update is 543MP.

Moreover, the users of Huawei Nova Y90 can download the update to experience improved performance. In terms of changes, the update brings two improvements to the Y90 handset.

Firstly, it optimizes the camera performance.

Secondly, it integrates the July 2022 security patches into the system. It fixes the bugs and issues in the software system so as to provide a safe system.

The patch is currently being circulated on the European region units of Nova Y90. While the users of other regions may have to wait for a few days to receive it as the company rolls updates in batches.

Update Instructions:

  • Go to the Settings app
  • Tap on System & Updates
  • Select the Software Updates
  • Choose the Check for Updates option
  • Let the device search for the new optimization patch
  • Hit the Download & Install tab

The device must have a better battery level to install this version which is a minimum of 50%. Further, check the storage availability and opt for a stable Wi-Fi network connection for buffer-free download.

Huawei Nova Y90:

The Huawei Y90 sports a 6.7-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate for smoother processing. Under the hood, it has Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset.

A big 5000mAh battery with fast charging of 40W backs the handset. Coming to the camera department, the Y90 houses a triple camera setup at the rear side comprising a 50MP primary camera, 2MP macro camera, and 2MP depth camera. On the front side, there is an 8MP selfie camera.
