Huawei Nova 13 series, Nova 12/Pro gets HarmonyOS NEXT closed beta update
Huawei Nova 13 series and a few members of the Nova 12 family are getting the HarmonyOS NEXT closed beta update. The company recently opened a new software testing activity for these models and now released the latest enhancements.
The company is speeding up the HarmonyOS NEXT beta distribution among its eligible devices. After the Mate and Pura lineup, the company has started recruiting the Nova 13 series, Nova 12 Pro, and the standard Nova 12 users for software testing.
The respective device owners can participate in the HarmonyOS NEXT beta activity till January 10, 2025, at 15:00. Hereafter, the company will close the first round of recruitment and start pushing the new beta build to all enrolled phone holders.
Before proceeding with the sign-up process, make sure that your device is running on HarmonyOS 4.2.0.178 and 128 versions. The activity is open for:
- Nova 12 (BLK-AL00) – 4.2.0.178 baseline version
- Nova 12 Pro (ADA-AL00) – 4.2.0.178 baseline version
- Nova 13 (BLK-AL80) – 4.2.0.128 baseline version
- Nova 13 Pro (MIS-AL00) – 4.2.0.128 baseline version

Speaking of the update, the Huawei Nova 12/Pro and the Nova 13 series are receiving the HarmonyOS NEXT beta program with the 5.0.0.102 version and a 5.43GB.
The changes to the new beta update are currently unknown. Although there may be better security improvements, new camera features, and some smart tools to ease daily operations. It could also be similar to the changelog given below.
