Huawei Nova 12 Ultra enters HarmonyOS NEXT public beta pool

Huawei Nova 12 Ultra and the Star Edition models are now eligible to jump into the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta testing. The company added the respective handsets to the new software ‘public beta’ list. Users will soon receive the new update.

Nova 12 Ultra models already received the first HarmonyOS NEXT closed beta builds. The device stepped into the “limited software testing” phase in late October.

As of now, the Huawei Nova 12 Ultra phones joined the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta list. Users who have registered in the closed beta program will receive the new software version via the OTA. Others have to sign up for the latest testing activity.

How to sign up for the beta?

First-time users can visit the My Huawei App to enroll in the beta testing. Just open the app and go to the Me section. Now tap on the “Upgrade and Try (Multi-device trial)” banner. Fill in the details, follow the on-screen steps, and apply.

Note that it is still a beta firmware and may accompany bugs and issues to the device. Hence, ensure a complete backup of the device to avoid data loss. We also suggest around 10GB of free storage space to prevent failure during installation.

Public Beta Update

Some Huawei Nova 12 Ultra users reported that they are receiving a new version – HarrmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.113. The firmware weighs around 700MB to 1GB. It contains various optimizations for the camera, phone, system, and more.

It could be the new HarmonyOS NEXT public beta update for the Nova 12 Ultra and Star Edition handsets. In case you haven’t received it yet, wait patiently.
