Huawei NEXT IMAGE 2021 Awards winners announced with 10000 USD reward
On January 24, 2022, Huawei has announced the winners of its annual smartphone photography contest – Huawei NEXT IMAGE 2021 Awards. For your information, there are over 70 contestants have been selected to win at the 2021 HUAWEI NEXT IMAGE Awards this year.
Most surprisingly, the contest has seen more than 1 million entries from over 100 countries around the globe within the 139 days of the competition. These numbers are huge and show the enthusiasm of Huawei smartphone consumers ready to capture new scenarios each day.
Top Photographs:
There are a total of three entries that have been awarded the “Photography of the Year” title and received 10,000 USD in cash prizes for their photographs taken with Huawei phones.
These three top photographs and photographers are:
- Generations by Hungarian photographer Attila Tompa
- Hometown feast by Chinese photographer Zhang Wei
- I am a father now by Czech photographer Zdeněk Dvořák
Let’s talk a little about the first winner and what the judge saw in this picture.
Generations:
“The people pictured in the photo are my mother-in-law and my daughter. In this moment, where their faces were illuminated by light and shadow, I was very touched. The lives of two generations are intertwined here, showing that love and family have never been changed by the times.” said the photographer.
Judgment:
The warm moment between a grandparent and her grandchild not only moved the photographer but moved me too. This photo freezes it in time, making me feel as if I can’t bear to disturb the quiet, tender moment.” — Lin Haiyin, 2020 NEXT-IMAGE Awards Photographer of the Year.
Huawei NEXT IMAGE 2021 awards details:
The 2021 Huawei Next IMAGE awards received submissions across ten categories including:
- Portrait
- Monochrome
- Color
- Snapshot
- Night
- Telephoto
- Ultra wide-angle
- Super Macro
- Story creator
- Storyteller
Among these, 27 winners will receive a NEXT-IMAGE Creative fund of $1000 USD and the rest of 30 winners will be welcomed with a Huawei Watch 3 smartwatch.
Huawei NEXT IMAGE Competition:
This photography competition initially began in 2017 and rapidly continues to gain popularity among Huawei smartphone users as it runs through the fifth year mark.
