According to the appearance, Huawei MatePad Air comes in a white retail box. The tablet has a sleek body with around corners and the texture is frosted silver. There’s a silver Huawei logo on the center of the back.

It has a cylindrical bump in the top left corner, which consists of a main camera and an LED flash. There are two buttons, both of which are on the top left corners of the frame.

Specifications:

Huawei MatePad Air equips an 11-inch screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio. It will be Huawei’s first 3:2 aspect ratio tablet with a 2.8K resolution. The screen panel is LCD. The tipster also suggested that it will support 144Hz frame rate gaming, which is an immersive experience.

Interestingly, the tablet weighs about 508 grams and the thickness is 6.4mm, which is the thinnest in the MatePad category.

The tablet is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. Huawei is likely to arrange a large heat dissipation system and a big 8200mAh battery. These will resolve the issues of heat management and provide the required power. Also, you can recharge this tablet with a 40W super fast charger.

3:2 aspect ratio?

A screen has a 3:2 aspect ratio consisting of three units wide for every two units across. And that makes a difference because when there are more pixels in height, a screen can show more.

This is a brand new approach from Huawei and we’ll have to see the implication of the new resolution. Speaking of which, the company has also developed a new game frame insertion tech, which we don’t know much about at the moment.

New Series:

Huawei MatePad Air will be a new tablet series and it is developed as a light productivity tool for young consumers. This device is in competition against Apple iPad Air. The company will unveil this new lineup at Summer 2023 launch conference on May 18th.
