January 2022 HarmonyOS security update is making its way to Huawei Mate Xs folding smartphone. The latest HarmonyOS update levels ups the security of smartphones by fixing different levels of exploits and issues.

Huawei Mate Xs January 2022 update is rolling out with HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.222, which is upgraded from 2.0.0.216. Well, the changelog reveals that besides security improvements there no major changes are mentioned here.

January 2022 HarmonyOS security patch details:

The January 2022 HarmonyOS security patch fixes 4 CVEs in the framework, 10 CVEs in the system, and 5 CVEs in the application. Additionally, it also resolves 111 CVEs found in the third-party libraries.

On the other hand, the global variant of Huawei Mate Xs has upgraded over EMUI 12 software system without organizing any beta testing. Currently, the stable EMUI 12 version for the Mate Xs is rolling out in batches and soon reach all Mate Xs devices.

So, Huawei users! here are two ways to update the smartphone on the latest version. Both of these are mentioned below:

Via Settings:

Go to Settings in your respective devices, then click on system & updates followed by software updates. Afterward, click on CHECK FOR UPDATES and let the phone fetch the latest update for you. Once the update pop-ups, download and install it.

Via My Huawei app:

Open the My Huawei app, visit the update section and follow on-screen instructions. After completion of the update, your phone will reboot automatically. Please wait patiently for above five to ten minutes.

Update Note:

Before updating your smartphone, the phone should be charged at least 30% or above, and make sure that it has enough storage to download the update package. Also, use a WiFi connection and do not forcefully power off the phone.
