In the past, Huawei purchased display panels from South Korean’s Samsung and LG. Later on, the company focused on doing business with Chinese panel maker BOE but now it seems like Huawei is considering to go back to previous suppliers for the upcoming foldable phone.

According to the supply chain from China, Huawei is considering to place new foldable display orders to Samsung Display for its second-gen Huawei Mate X devices, which is scheduled to make debut in March 2020.

After almost a year-long delay from its initial unveiling, Huawei Mate X 5G finally made its debut in China in October last year. The first-gen Mate X uses panels from LG Display and BOE.

The Huawei Mate Xs is equipped with Kirin 990 5G and Richard Yu, Huawei’s Consumer BG CEO said, this new foldable phone will come with a more improved hinge and better resistant screen.
