This month is packed with many launches and Huawei is gearing up for a big event. However, the Huawei Mate 60 series doesn’t want to be left behind and now we have got new input about its relationship with Snapdragon Gen 2 chip.

Tipster from Weibo revealed that the Huawei Mate 60 series is being tested with Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 2 chipset. This is why that could be the final chipset for this Mate flagship.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 4G has 1+4+3 octa-core architecture. This consists of a big Kryo Prime core (based on Cortex-X3) running at 3.2GHz to provide high single-thread performance.

It has four performance cores run at 2.8GHz for the multi-threaded benchmarks. There are three efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz. Looking at the power efficiency, the 8 Gen2 can provide up to a 40% increase in CPU energy efficiency and a 45% reduction in Adreno GPU power consumption.

These are great statics and could help Huawei to provide better performance for consumers.

Yes, it’s not the first time that we’ve mentioned Snapdragon Gen 2 but this time, it’s in testing. But testing the chipset is something new.

Meanwhile, the mystery of whether the phone lineup will bring 5G, remains unsolved. Currently, there are no official details available about this device. But it could come with HarmonyOS 4 operating system.

Looking into the details, Huawei will push new camera technologies for these devices with XMAGE technology is likely to fetch something new to capture. The company could bring a brand new satellite communication feature for the Huawei Mate 60 series.

After the launch of the Mate 40 series, Huawei had to hold a year off in 2021 for a new Mate model. Last year, Huawei unveiled Mate 50 series and this year, Huawei will be resuming its dual flagship tradition. Therefore, the Huawei Mate 60 series could go on the launch stage by the end of this year.
