Huawei is rolling out a brand new software update for the Mate 50 series, which brings a load of new features for consumers with February 2023 firmware. Huawei continues to feed the Mate 50 lineup with new firmware and the latest one also aims to improve this flagship in all aspects.

The February 2023 firmware for the Huawei Mate 50 series comes with HarmonyOS 3.0.0.202 and it gets you 700 MB of package size. The changelog is pretty interesting and installs brand-new options for managing system apps. The update also lets you make those apps easier to recognize.

This new addition will improve communications in certain situations. Also, the audio optimizes the playback of game audio and calls in speaker mode, which is a better step for phone users. Last but not least, Huawei is increasing the Mate 50 series’ security level with February 2023 HarmonyOS security patches.

This is a full-featured and improved firmware for the Huawei Mate 50 series and users are suggested to grab this new addition as soon as it appears on the smartphone. Meanwhile, the global models have not received these features or optimizations but we’ll keep you updated with the following developments.

But users can also check the update manually via Settings > System & updates > from here tap on Software update and then follow the on-screen instructions. For people with Chinese models, you can check the My Huawei app for more information.

Check below for update notes:

This OTA firmware won’t erase your phone’s data but it’s recommended that you back up your data before updating. The software update package will be deleted after the installation. Also, such updates come in batches and may take some to reach your Huawei Mate 50 series model.
