Huawei Mate 30E Pro 5G receiving first software update with security improvements

On 22 October 2020, Huawei launched the Mate 30E Pro smartphone in China. The device offers similar features to the Mate 30 Pro and the major markable difference between both smartphones is only the processor.

The Mate 30E Pro powered by a Kirin 990E processor instead of a Kirin 990 and comes with a 6.53 inches OLED display, EMUI 11, Huawei Mobile Service, and the rest of the specifications are identical to the existing Mate 30 Pro.

After the launch, Huawei is now sending the first firmware update for the Mate 30E Pro 5G. This latest update mainly installs the security patch released in January 2021 and comes with software version 11.0.0.160.

The January 2021 security patch fixes the different levels of exploits and issues including 4 critical, 1 medium, and 25 high levels of CVEs that enhance system security.

HOW TO INSTALL UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
