Huawei Mate 20 series will keep getting software updates: Confirms Huawei

Recently, Huawei released a new software update for the Huawei Mate 20 series on EMUI 11 users in China. However, the Mate 20 users in the global market may have to wait for a month to get their hands on the EMUI 11 version.

Huawei has delisted Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X 4G, and Mate 20 RS from the monthly security patch list, which means Huawei will reduce the software update priority of the phones. On the other side, the Mate 20 X 5G remains in the listing.

However, it doesn’t prove that the Mate 20 smartphones will stop receiving software updates immediately. Meanwhile, the transition of the Mate 20 series will bring occasional upgrades that is likely to happen later on.

Now, there’s one thing that we want to mention that it’s only listed from the global website but these devices are still listed locally for different markets including UK, Germany, Turkey, and more. So, it’ll keep getting the software updates.

Since it’s a flagship smartphone, Huawei (Global) has also stepped foot into this matter and said.

“Huawei Mate 20 series will continue to receive software updates”

We’re not surprised by this statement and we have been expecting such a response from Huawei to provide the software update for the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X 4G and RS.
