Huawei launches AI eye tracking feature to turn e-book pages with eye movement

Huawei has launched an AI eye tracking feature that allows users to turn an e-book page with their eyes for a more immersive and hands-free experience.
This capability comes with the new Huawei Pura X foldable smartphone and powered by the Pungu large models. The on-board AI model will automatically adjust the experience based on Huawei Books app and start tracking user’s eye movement. However, the user will first have to enable this feature because it’s disabled by default.
To switch a page, a user needs to look up on screen after completing the current page, and it will automatically change to the next. We don’t know the accuracy of this feature, but it will utilize the internal 10.7MP camera.
The Pura X sports the industry’s first foldable wide-screen. The cover has a 3.5-inch screen with 1.07 billion colors, P3 wide color gamut, 980 x 980 pixels resolution. It is an OLED panel, with 1-120 Hz LTPO 2.0 adaptive refresh rate, 1440 Hz high frequency PWM dimming and 240 Hz touch sampling rate.
This phone’s main attraction is its internal screen, which expands to 6.3-inches. The Pura X offers 1-120Hz LTPO 2.0 adaptive refresh rate, 1440 Hz PWM dimming and 300Hz touch sampling rate. These specifications make the on-screen content enjoyable at different angles and at high resolution.
The internal screen has an ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture. Huawei has packed this phone with a 4720 mAh battery and 66W wired charging.
