Huawei Kirin X90 PC chip spotted in the wild, launching soon

Huawei’s Kirin PC hasn’t yet been launched, but a listing recently spoiled the mystery. China Information Security Evaluation Center has shared details of the upcoming computer processors, one of which is the Huawei Kirin X90 PC chip.
Many Weibo tipsters have shared the listing image, highlighting the all-new Huawei Kirin X90 PC chip. This is the first time that the company’s computer SoC has been spotted in the wild. Meanwhile, a few clues say that it may launch soon.
Kirin PC has been in the news since last year. Following the Mate 60 launch powered by the Kirin 9000s 5G chipset, the company decided to stop relying on foreign products and introduce self-made technologies to the Chinese market.
Huawei adopted this idea not only for smartphones but also for other product lines like notebooks. Instead of using Windows OS and Intel processors, the company started working on HarmonyOS PC software and the Kirin PC chipset.
Looks like the company’s effort will soon show up on the consumer platform. The China Information Security Evaluation Center has listed several computer processors that will launch in the future. Some of these are: Shenwei H8000, Feitang Tengyun S5000C-E, Loongson 3B6000/3C6000 and Huawei Kirin X90.

Kirin PC X90 chip:
It is clear to some extent that Huawei’s first PC-based chip will be called X90. It would be the company’s first ARM-based computer SoC and is expected to launch later this quarter.
The latest listing doesn’t reveal key specifications about the new chipset. But, it has certified the computer-based processor with level II of safety and reliability.
On the other hand, inputs reveal that the processor uses advanced tech components and can improve multi-tasking, manage high-load operations, and offer enhanced performance with optimized cores and frequency.
Huawei might have used the SMIC 7nm process tech for the new chip, as it is the only choice at present. Hence, the overall performance could be inferior to Apple’s latest M4 chip lineup or Snapdragon X Plus. Yet, the positive side is that Huawei is on the verge of introducing its first Kirin PC chip.
