Huawei Kirin PC chipset could launch later this month

It looks like Huawei may finally debut its long-rumored Kirin PC chipset on the consumer platform later this month. The company will launch the HarmonyOS PC software and probably a computer-dedicated chip together in the coming weeks.
Kirin PC chip has been swirling in rumors since last year. After smartphone processors, the company shifted its focus to revamping its PCs to the next level.
Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu now adds that the Huawei Kirin PC chip can go official later this month. Alongside the HarmonyOS PC software, we may witness a dynamic processor in the MateBook devices instead of the Intel Core chipsets.
The tipster hints that Huawei’s self-developed Kirin PC chip is ready. The statement is slightly in line with a previous rumor that says Huawei began testing a new computer chip on a large scale and will soon unveil it officially in the market.
Apart from the PC chip, the leak suggests that Huawei has begun installing a new self-made processor in its second flagship. Considering Pura X as the first top-end product of this year, the leak might refer to the Pura 80 series smartphones.

Pura 80 is expected to launch by the end of the second quarter. Perhaps the company has started assembling the devices and may soon release them at a grand event.
Kirin X90: the PC chip?
A couple of months back, Kirin X90 appeared in the wild, claiming to be the PC chipset. Even though its key specs are unknown, inputs say that the tech giant might use the SMIC 7nm process. The chip is certified with level II of safety.
Rumors further mentioned that Huawei can use Apple’s M-series chip design for its Kirin PC processor. If it’s true, upcoming MateBooks could deliver a significant and better performance boost over the previous generation PCs.
