Huawei Spatial Audio Feature

Today, Huawei officially started to rollout the spatial audio feature of Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 supporting old flagship devices. These include P40 and Mate 30 series to enable immersive sound quality after the upgrade.

All users will have to do is download the latest Audio Accessory Manager plugin from AppGallery with version 13.0.0.120. It will automatically add the new spatial audio feature in the FreeBuds Pro 2 settings. According to the information, Huawei spatial audio feature for FreeBuds Pro 2 is making its way to the following devices:

  • Mate 40E
  • P40
  • P40 Pro
  • P40 Pro+
  • Mate 30 (4G/5G)
  • Mate 30 Pro (4G/5G)
  • Mate 30 RS Porsche Design
  • Mate Xs

On the other hand, the P50 and Mate 40 series have already been upgraded with this sound capability. It may further expand to more models but there’s no confirmation available.

Notably, the latest feature is available only for the Chinese model but it could also release for the global FreeBuds Pro 2 for the above mentioned smartphones.

Spatial Audio:

Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 is the first headset that supports Audio Vivid spatial audio, supports multiple sound sources such as 3D sound, surround sound, and stereo sound. It uses Huawei’s self-developed scenario-based spatial audio sound field rendering engine and provides three spatial audio sound effects modes: theater, cinema, and concert hall. Providing an exact sound matching the situation and deducing a realistic sense of presence.

At the same time, Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 is equipped with a six-axis gyro sensor, which supports dynamic tracking of head movements, reshapes the position of the sound field in real time, and creates a 360-degree high-definition spatial audio surround listening experience.

To be mentioned, the spatial audio feature supports phones and tablets with HarmonyOS 3 operating system with Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2. While using the high-definition spatial audio feature, it supports a maximum sampling rate of 48 kHz/24-bit depth.

The expansion of the Spatial Audio feature shows that Huawei is allowing users to enhance the FreeBuds Pro 2 sound experience.
