Huawei is planning to commercialize its high-precision map this year and will soon open a new batch of first and second-tier cities

The new ARCFOX Alpha S series has been released by Huawei and BAIC at the Shanghai Auto Show 2021. This series is divided into two models- the regular version and HI supported version.

The autonomous driving experience supports three modes including NCA mode, ICA+ mode, and ICA mode.

About the NCA mode, the realizes point-to-point driverless driving through the preinstalled map in the car system, which is exclusive to some selected are for the instance. The user has to enter the destination only.

As of now, the real-time location covers Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. For better sales, the company is trying to extend this area.

According to the latest information, Huawei is planning to commercialize its high-precision map this year, and will soon open a new batch of first and second-tier cities to produce high-precision maps. The company believes that a high-accuracy map can’t be draft at once for a large scale.

Therefore, this telecom giant has set up three modes on this system to take into account users in areas, which are not available on high-precision maps.

It’s notable that Huawei is conducting the class A surveying and mapping measurement method to create the electronic map since 2019. This precision map system is called Roadcode, further divided into Roadcode HD and Roadcode RT.

The HD version stands for the map manually created by the professional surveying and mapping team, whereas the TR version is a self-learning map.

Back in 2018, the general manager of Huawei’s Smart Car Cloud Service Product Department- Liao Zhenqi stated that the company will provide high-precision maps of the major four cities of Mainland by 2021, which has been come true.
