According to the supply chain industry, Huawei is reportedly buying new components for its foldable phone. These new parts will be used to produce new models and to fill the current supply-demand for Huawei Mate X3.

Digitimes revealed that Huawei has significantly increased orders for components for its foldable smartphones. The related purchase is expected to exceed double the previous estimates. The tech maker has revised the shipment target of Mate X3 from 1.47 million units to 3+ million units. This is a significant change in plans, which indicates the market demand.

Currently, Huawei has not shared the details of shipment expectations with a new foldable phone that will launch in the second half of this year. However, industry insiders believe that the strong demand for Mate X3 will contribute largely to the overall folding devices market this year.

Everyone is amazed by the form factors of the Huawei Mate X3. It has only 239 grams of weight, which is the lightest in the world for a side folding device. On the other hand, it offers only 5.3mm of thickness, which is the slimmest among all competitors in the genre.

The source indicates that global shipments of foldable devices will grow up to 30 million units this year. Last year, the industry recorded about 19 million units. Further, the source forecasted 45 million unit shipments in 2024.

This shows the market trend and popularity of foldable devices that will continue to grow over the years to come.

Following its launch in March this year, the Mate X3 has made a positive impact among consumers, therefore, Huawei is buying new foldable phone components to ensure to meet the customer orders.
