Huawei has recorded a significant increase in its annual revenue and a major credit goes to smartphone sales. The tech giant has indirectly pointed out that the rise in the smartphone business has contributed to the company’s overall success in 2024.

On Wednesday, the Chairman of Huawei Technologies – Liang Hua attended a forum in Guangzhou. He spoke about how the company handled last year’s challenges and won amazing scores in every field including the smartphone business.

As per the details, the company earned an annual revenue of 860 billion yuan ($118 billion) in 2024. The overall revenue has increased by 22% year-on-year.

The company started touching new heights from the first half of 2024. Despite US ban, it generated a net profit of $7.7 billion in H1 last year with a hike of 34.3% YoY.

By the end of 2024, the annual revenue crossed $118 billion – thanks to new 5G phones. Liang indirectly hinted that the smartphone sales raised Huawei revenue and lifted its competitiveness to a whole new level in the market.

Liang said that the overall operations met expectations in 2024. Smartphone business returned to growth and the smart car solutions field also achieved a new boost.

After 5 years of struggle due to US sanctions, Huawei entered the smartphone market with its Mate 60 series in 2023. The lineup got immense attention for its Kirin 5G chip. Hereafter, the tech maker initiated a self-reliant journey.

Devices like Nova 12 series, Pocket 2, and Nova Flip increased the company’s value in the mid-range market. Meanwhile, the Pura 70 lineup, Mate XT, and the Mate 70 series brought Huawei back into the premium smartphone game.

Huawei is now ready to welcome 2025 with innovation and improved Kirin 5G chips. The OEM is currently preparing the Pocket 3 foldable, the Pura 80 series, and the Nova 14 models. Regardless of challenges, the firm is gearing up for digitalization, intelligence, and low carbonization.
