Huawei highlights AI and global 5G evolution goals at Shanghai MWC 2025

Amid US-China tech tensions, Huawei targets its global evolution as an AI and 5G network supplier. At the Shanghai MWC 2025 event, the company shed light on its goals related to artificial intelligence and network infrastructure.
On Wednesday (the first day of Shanghai MWC 2025), Huawei revealed the company’s progress in the 5G and AI segments. Despite a saturated market, the tech giant tried to give its consumers the best AI products and 5G services.
Eric Xu Zhijun, the Deputy Chairman of Huawei, delivered a keynote at the event. He noted that in the past four decades, the telecom industry has met consumer needs and achieved stable growth. But it’s time to make things more productive.
The executive further mentioned four poles that can strengthen the telecom industry. These are:
- Attracting new user groups: live-streamers and delivery workers
- Increasing the supply chain of high-definition video
- Enabling smart connected vehicles via 5G
- Expansion of fibre-to-the-room to support digitalization for small businesses.
Huawei aims to deepen its roots as a global supplier of AI and 5G network solutions. Xu added that the company is always ready to join hands with global tech manufacturers to meet consumers’ needs and offer them the best services.
