Huawei has recently launched two HarmonyOS PCs, including a foldable edition, and both devices have quickly become one of the most popular laptops in the market, crossing 170000 pre-orders. A part of the credit goes to HarmonyOS.

The official Huawei Mall store shows that the new HarmonyOS-powered MateBook Pro and foldable PCs have exceeded more than 170,000 pre-orders in a week.

MateBook Fold Ultimate Design alone covers 125,000 units, and the rest of the pre-orders belong to the MateBook Pro. The figure shows that the folding PC has become a major spotlight in the Chinese market for its new form factor and features.

It’s just a week, and HarmonyOS-powered PCs are already getting huge attention among consumers. Nearly 180K users have pre-booked the new notebooks to explore their surprising features, an eye-catching form factor, and AI tech.

Apart from the exterior aspect, internal components like the fusion of self-developed chips and HarmonyOS are also significantly drawing consumers’ attention towards the newly launched PCs over other laptops in the market.

China becoming independent!

Sources reveal a recent broadcast by CCTV that notes the self-developed HarmonyOS PCs have given a new imagination to everyone in China’s independence. It suggests that the country is achieving control in self-made technologies, from hardware chips to software operating systems.

A few customers even said that they are eagerly waiting for the turning point when China makes a breakthrough in the chip field. China’s growth may make the US realize that the suppression and sanctions on China are ineffective and futile.

HarmonyOS PC is really an innovative take by Huawei amid the US-China tech war. It hints that the company is striving to become independent of US technologies and continue to expand its business globally. Though how these goals will be accomplished is worth looking at.
