Huawei global smartphone shipment will reach 230 million units this year, predicted Huawei CEO

Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO, Richard Yu predicted that this year Huawei’s global smartphone shipment will be about 230 million units with a 12% on year increase.

By the end of 2018, Kevin Ho, president of the handset product line at Huawei CBG expected to ship 230 to 250 million units in 2019.

Back in October, Huawei announced to ship over 200 million smartphone units, which is 64 days earlier than last year. Keeping the record, on May 30 the company exceeded 100 million units.

According to Huawei, the Huawei Mate 30 series has exceeded 7 million units globally after its launch 60 days ago and a recorded increase of 75% year-on-year.

As of October 31, Huawei Mate 20 series and P30 series smartphones have exceeded 17 and 20 million units respectively.

Altogether, Huawei Mate 30, P30, Mate 20 series, and other Honor flagships are doing good sales in China and in the global market to help the Chinese tech giant maintain its second spot in the world’s largest smartphone makers.
