Huawei FreeBuds 6 launched with 95dB noise cancellation, Nearlink support

Huawei today launched the FreeBuds 6 earphones with various new features and a slightly upgraded design. The new-gen digital earbud series offers a set of enhancements over its predecessors in terms of audio experience and Celia ear assistant.

FreeBuds 6 comes in a revamped waterdrop look. The company has given it a semi-open form to ensure an easy grip on the ears. The audio wearable has three beautiful colors: Aurora Purple, Starry Black, and Sky White.

The Chinese tech giant has significantly improved the crafting process for its new earbuds. It has reduced the ear handle’s volume by 12%, while the overall weight by 9%.

New FreeBuds 6 design is based on more than 10000 ear data. The device can offer the best ‘wearing experience’ to consumers without hurting their ears in any way.

A single earphone weighs 4.9 grams while thee charging case has 40.3 grams weight. It has a double-tap gesture to play, pause, switch the song, answer, and hang calls. Triple-tap gesture let’s jump to the previous or next song. Slide your finger on the buds can adjust the volume. Press and hold to reject calls or control noise.

Huawei says that FreeBuds 6 is the industry’s first semi-open TWM earbuds with an impressive combination: super-sensing acoustic dual units + bass diving 14Hz + treble (high-frequency sounds) of 48kHz. Users will experience clarity, detail in the audio, hi-hats, and higher notes of instruments, efficiently.

Regarding features, Huawei FreeBuds 6 has an AI two-way calling feature. No matter whether you are in heavy traffic, noisy concerts, cafes, or offices, you can enjoy talking to anyone. The feature reduces the outer noise, offering clear conversations.

95dB noise cancellation is another highlight of the Huawei FreeBuds 6. It effectively reduces the background noise when you are on a call and let the other party hear your voice clearly than ever.

HarmonyOS AI

FreeBuds 6 relies on HarmonyOS AI paired with a Celia ear assistant. It not only takes care of calls and music but also answers your frequent queries, and remembers addresses, card details, and phone numbers. These buds also have translation skills.

• Face-to-face translation: Supports 21 languages. Earbuds can detect different voices and broadcast in the speaker’s voice.
• Interpretation: Can translate between 20 languages. It can also record the source language via phone and translate the content simultaneously.

Other features that the Huawei launched with the FreeBuds 6 earphones are:

• Long-distance map positioning: Displays specific floor information where the buds are located, even in complex public places such as malls or airports.
• Nearlink: Supports close-range Nearlink accurate search up to 50 meters and offers real-time location details.
• Lost reminder: The phone will receive an alert if the earbuds are disconnected. Once reconnected, the phone will receive another alert as ‘found’ confirmation.

Huawei FreeBuds 6 supports 36 hours of battery life. It can run for 2.5 hours straight with a mere charging of 5 minutes. Smart Charging will identify user’s charging habits and control the charging. This capability enhances the battery life by 37%.

Huawei FreeBuds 6 is available for pre-sale, starting today, at 999 yuan on VMall. Consumers may get a discount of 50 yuan. It will be officially on sale on March 28.
