Huawei has announced Kirin 990 processor packed with its latest Image Signal Processor (ISP) as well as Dual Neural Processing Unit (NPU) powered by the new DaVinci AI architecture. By combining the power of both ISP and NPU, Huawei has brought a new Augmented Reality feature.

According to Huawei, Kirin 990 can use Face AR to measure heart rate and breath rate, track face expression, tracking respiration rate and other health data using health AR.

Although, all the image processing and object identification will be done by the ISP and NPU but it may need faster internet such 5G for additional information but not confirmed by the company.

Overall it’s an extraordinary approach and we could see this feature in the upcoming Huawei Mate 30 series smartphones.
