Huawei enhances Mate 40 Pro system security via March 2021 security update in Australia

Huawei is doing outstanding in terms of taking care of its devices either they are newly launched or older ones. Huawei Mate 40 series is the annual flagship of last year, which was launched in four models: Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, and RS Porsche Design.

Now, one of the models of this lineup, the Huawei Mate 40 Pro is now getting a new software update in the global market that mainly installs the security improvement released in March 2021 co-powered by the Android security bulletin.

This security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues to helps the device fight against the threats and increases overall device performance that provides a better user experience.

In the last update, along with February 2021 security patch, the company also added two apps to the system, AI Voice and Petal Maps for making users’ life more convenient.

On the other hand, the discussion of the next annual flagship, Mate 50 is started and begins to crack up. At the moment, not much information appeared online but a well-known concept creator @HoiINDI has come up with new renders of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro+ model.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro+

Before you upgrade:

  1. We recommend you take a backup of your important data.
  2. Use a stable connection to download the update package.
  3. Do not forcefully turn off the phone, once the installation is started.

EMUI version:

Huawei Mate 40 Pro device grabbing EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.173 with update size of 226MB. Currently, this update is rolling out in Australia and soon expand to other parts of the globe.

Changelog:

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in March 2021.

March 2021 Security Patch Details: This security patch fixes 2 critical, 13 high levels, and 132 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
