Today, Huawei has released March 2023 EMUI security patch, which brings the latest security improvements for smartphones in the global market. However, we’re still waiting for the EMUI 13. MWC 2023 was a great event and come to an end on March 2nd but Huawei again missed an event to share good news for old users.

Looking at the latest security patch, Huawei EMUI March 2023 security patch fixes various issues in the software system. Interestingly, Huawei began fixing vulnerabilities in EMUI 13 version alongside EMUI 12.0.1, EMUI 12.0, and EMUI 11.0.1.

Currently, Huawei Mate 50 Pro is the only smartphone in the global market to access EMUI 13. It would have been more enjoyable if Huawei could have released this software for previously launched devices.

Huawei has fixed various levels of security threats with this new patch of the system. These consist of 1 critical level of vulnerability, 13 high levels, and 1 medium level of vulnerability.

The details also reveal that there are CVE-2023-20908, CVE-2022-42544, CVE-2022-20199, and CVE-2022-20555 vulnerabilities fixed from the last firmware.

Notice, Huawei will rollout the latest security patch for devices via the OTA upgrade method. Therefore, it’s recommended that you keep an eye on the software updates section.

Some famous vulnerabilities were fixed in this update mentioned below.

Huawei patched the pairing authentication bypass bug, which could allow unwanted access to your device running EMUI 13, 12, and 11. An unauthorized issue was fixed in the MediaProver module and Messaging app in EMUI 13.

Furthermore, there was a configuration defect found in the secure OS module, which could have caused its availability and been fixed with this patch. There’s also a fix for the Bluetooth module, which could have crashed Bluetooth services in the smartphone.

That’s not it, Huawei has applied the patch for file permission control detected in the facial recognition, battery health activity, and recovery mode found in EMUI 13 and EMUI 12.
