Huawei developing two open source operating systems to uplift 5G smartphone sales

We can see Huawei working on two open source operating systems that focuses on different scenarios. Xu Zhijun (Eric Xu), who is the company’s rotating chairman, recently explains major variations between two Huawei operating systems including HarmonyOS and OpenEuler.

As he describes, HarmonyOS solely developed by Huawei is specially designed for smart devices including smartphones, smart accessories, laptops, tablets, smart screens, and other IoT devices. Meanwhile, Euler operating system aims for cloud computing including servers, edge computing, and embedded devices.

At the Huawei Connect Conference 2021, the Chinese tech giant introduced openEuler on 25th September. Furthermore, HarmonyOS and OpenEuler will share their core technologies to establish a cross-platform connection. As long as, two devices working on both software will be placed in a certain range, they’ll automatically connect with each other.

He said the company will make users buy its 5G smartphones by providing them all scenario capabilities. In addition, there is no chance for Huawei to gave up its smartphone business even in the worst conditions.

However, the company is still facing challenges such as the well-known ship shortage. It leads its flagship Huawei P50 to come with 4G accessibility and Mate 50 to delay in launch. Furthermore, it’s also is confirmed yet that’ll feature 5G network connection by resolving its current challenges.

Aside from this, the previous reports on this matter suggest that’ll this Chinese tech firm will soon return its 5G smartphone. Yet, there isn’t any improvement spotted regarding this matter.
