Huawei continues to explore new technologies and in the latest edition, the tech giant is developing a 3D fingerprint scanner for wearables. This ultimate addition to the smartwatch will probably enhance the security aspects to a greater extent.

The company is seemingly working on a 3D fingerprint scanner for Huawei wearables. It will be a multi-functional scanner and enable users to support multiple gestures as well as fingerprints. The figures explain the patent more accurately.

As per the first patent image, the innovative tech will reflect the smartwatch’s display as a fingerprint sensor. A clear fingerprint sensor interface will allow users to easily operate the device and perform certain related functions.

On the other hand, the second image highlights how users can register their fingerprints on the smartwatch. The steps are similar to that of a smartphone.

Just rotate your finger in 360 degrees and let the device take the imprint of your finger. The fourth and fifth patent images show how the fingerprint sensor supports multiple operations. Once registered, users can opt for several actions.

Also, you can register many fingers to carry out unlimited tasks with each finger. For instance, use your thumb to exit any page, index finger to call, and more.

You can further manage volume and display brightness with gestures. Just place your finger on the sensor and twist it clockwise to increase volume and brightness. Meanwhile, an anti-clockwise twist will decrease the volume and brightness.

It’s unclear if this tech will enter the real world or remain an imaginary innovation. But similar to a smartphone, an advanced 3D fingerprint sensor for a smartwatch will be quite useful.
