Huawei could rank 1st in China and top 5 in global smartphone market in 2025: Supply chain

In 2024, Huawei outsold titans in the smartphone and returned to the competition, and in 2025, it could rank 1st in China, while also making significant progress on global sales.
A Chinese supply chain report seen by CNMO predicts that Huawei is aiming for first place in domestic smartphone sales. Not only that, the sources also said that the company could make a comeback in the top 5 smartphone makers in the global market.
Before the US ban, Huawei made rapid progress in both of these smartphone sales with all-time high business. In the second quarter of 2020, Huawei achieved the top smartphone maker status in the global market for the first time in a quarter by defeating Samsung.
Things changed post-US ban and the Chinese tech maker went from first to nowhere. This was due to a collapsed supply chain and the lack of a reliable ecosystem.

The company failed to make new products as its global demand reduced to the lowest due to the removal of Google services.
However, Huawei slowly recovered from losses and developed a new supply chain that is interconnected with the Chinese companies. On the other hand, the home-grown HarmonyOS operating system has set a new way apart from Android.
In the past three years, the company has regained momentum among Chinese smartphone consumers.
According to Canalys Research, Huawei posted 46 million device shipments, coming close to the first place held by Vivo with 49.3 million shipments through 2024. Compared to this, the Chinese tech maker sold 33,5 million devices in 2023, creating a 37% annual growth over the year.
