Huawei could launch Pura 80 series on March 20

Huawei will host its first new product launch event of this year in China next week. Although the conference has sparked speculations for the release of the Huawei Pura 80 series flagship on March 20. Will the company really make such a move?

The Chinese phone maker today dropped the teaser of its upcoming launch event. It is entitled “Pura Pioneer Ceremony and Hongmeng Smart Driving new product press conference”. The first part of the name is enough to toss the talks on Pura 80.

Richard Yu, the senior executive of Huawei Technologies, reposted the teaser saying, “blockbuster products” are on the way, further raising the doubts on Pura 80 launch.

Pura brand was launched last year as the rebranded version of the P series. It focuses on flagship camera smartphones with impressive design and cool AI features.

Since Pura is the only lineup of its kind, the Pura Pioneer Ceremony name has implied that the company could launch the Huawei Pura 80 series on March 20.

Another point of speculation is Pioneer. Huawei launched the Pura 70 series under the Pioneer program. The scheme leads to early access to new devices. It enables customers to directly purchase the retail device before its official sale.

Last time, the company only initiated the Pioneer Program for the Pura 70 models. Meanwhile, other series like Nova 13 and Mate 70 launched directly via a grand-scale event. Thus, it raises questions on the Pura 80 flagship’s official unveiling.

Even though Huawei has been teasing its unexpected product for a long time, it hasn’t revealed the official name for it. Hence, the confusion persists on this matter.

However, the company has started teasing its March 20 launch event devices and will eventually drop the mysterious smartphone’s look and its official name in the coming days.
