Huawei could introduce its first 20GB RAM smartphone later this year

Huawei could unveil another surprising tech this year in the form of its first 20GB RAM smartphone. A new rumor surfacing on the internet says that the company is preparing the second flagship lineup of 2025 with upgraded memory capabilities.
DigitalChatStation has allegedly mentioned that the new-gen Huawei top-end smartphone series will feature ultra-large memory of 20GB RAM. The tipster added that the new lineup will bring a top-notch chip with new packaging tech.
Based on the details, the flagship lineup seems to be the Huawei Mate 80. It is currently in the development phase and is expected to debut by the end of this year.
The tipster has suggested that the Huawei Mate 80 smartphone series can bring 20GB of RAM. If true, it will become the first lineup in the company’s history to sport an ultra-memory variant.
In smartphones, RAM is mainly responsible for performance and seamless operations. Also known as Random Access Memory, it acts as the device’s short-term, high-speed memory that holds data and prompts for running apps and processes.
RAM also ensures smoother multitasking. More RAM is often considered to offer a more seamless user experience. Over time, the RAM variants have ranged from 2GB to 16GB. OnePlus 13 even features 24GB of RAM.
The highest RAM variant in the Huawei smartphone family is 16GB. But the company is now seemingly testing an ultra-high memory variant and may debut it later this year. The addition could ramp up AI capabilities for future Huawei handsets.
Apart from the RAM information, the tipster hinted that Huawei is testing a new chip packaging technology for the second flagship smartphone lineup of this year.
In that case, we can expect a significant 5G chipset upgrade for the Mate 80 series. None of these details are official and may change as per the firm’s product strategy. Hence, let’s take this input with a grain of salt at the moment.
