Huawei, China Unicom, and other operators have jointly developed the world’s largest power supply system based on the 5G smart grid solution. The ultimate product has now received the GLOMO’s best private network solution award at the MWC 2024.

According to the information, Huawei, China Unicom, TD Tech, and the State Grid Shangdong Electric Power company are the main contributors to this solution. These firms have utilized advanced technologies to build a new network-based product.

Besides, Huawei and its partners have integrated the useful RedCap lightweight 5G technology into the new power supply system. This tech benefits for both cost and performance conditions. It reduces the overall power device pricing by 60%.

As a result, the 5G power supply system offers a wide coverage network, a highly secure experience, and easy deployment facilities at low cost. The next important component is China Unicom‘s wide-coverage 5G network which effectively uses public network resources and power.

With the help of its Chinese partners and the world’s first innovative FlexE+RB tech, Huawei aims to build 5G power virtual private networks in 17 cities in Shangdong this year. The plan further includes the placement of 100,000 5G RedCap power products.

On the other hand, the Shangdong Electric Power Digitalization Department of State Grid hopes to opt for 300,000 5G power connections by June 2024 along with 150,000 RedCap towers.

Huawei looks forward to introducing more beneficial 5G private network solutions that can ultimately link with every aspect such as transmission, power generation, transformation, distribution, and consumption without affecting the experience.
