Huawei challenges Windows and macOS dominance with HarmonyOS PC

Huawei today surprised its consumers by unveiling HarmonyOS PC against Windows and macOS. The company took this approach silently without making an early announcement or sharing any promotional teasers for the most-awaited PC product.
Up to this point, Windows and macOS were the two main operating systems for computers in the market. Microsoft and Apple have long dominated the Chinese PC operating system segment. But now, they are getting a tough rival!
On May 8, Huawei launched the all-new HarmonyOS PC operating system, challenging the dominance of Windows and macOS in the market. With the latest computer OS, the company said that Huawei devices have now fully entered the HarmonyOS era.
The HarmonyOS NEXT for smartphones has already taken over iOS in China. Now, the company has brought in HarmonyOS PC to battle with Windows and macOS.
HarmonyOS PC software is free of Android and Windows. It is fused with AI models like Pangu and DeepSeek to deliver a smarter, safer, and smoother experience.
Starting with AI, the company has seeded Harmony AI-based Celia assistant to the new software system. It looks after cross-device collaboration, unified accounts, multi-device connectivity, app continuation, and many other AI controls.

On the other hand, the company has taken PC security to a whole new level. No worries whether it is installing an app from the Huawei app store or keeping confidential data on the PC, the upgraded StarShield security will take care of everything.
Huawei even introduced features like super privacy mode and chip-level encryption that keep your data safe in every aspect. Interestingly, the OEM not only made HarmonyOS PC useful for general users but also for enterprises.
Inputs reveal that Huawei HarmonyOS PC is smoother and more innovative than Windows and macOS. Thus, we can expect that HarmonyOS will soon become one of the largest operating system in the Chinese PC segment.
