Huawei Chairman comments on new Tesla Model Y SUV
Huawei Smart Automotive Solution Business Chairman – Yu Chengdong has commented on the new Tesla Model Y. The mid-sized SUV recently debuted on the consumer platform challenging its rivals to compare their premium smart cars with it.
Tesla has launched a redesigned Model Y SUV called “Juniper” in China. It is an upgraded version of the original car with a new design and promising features.
New Model Y is considered to be Tesla’s hope to regain its market share in the Chinese automobile race amid growing competition. The SUV is priced at 263,500 yuan, 5% more expensive than the previous Chinese variant.
Following the launch of the New Model Y in official stores, Tesla said “Feel free to compare”. The comment caught huge attention on the social media platforms.
The US firm eventually challenged the Chinese automobiles to not be able to catch up with the redefined Model Y. It packs some high-tech capabilities this time.

But something even more interesting is the Huawei Chairman comments on the new Tesla Model Y. Yu Chengdog said that the Luxeed R7 SUV is still in the lead.
“Looking at the data, the Luxeed R7 still maintains its leading advantage! After getting the actual car, let’s compare it carefully.” – says Yu Chengdong.
Yu’s comment hints that despite a renovated model, the Huawei-backed Luxeed R7 still seems the best in the Chinese automobile market. He also stated that the comparison will be clearer once the new Tesla model enters the market.
The comeback on Tesla’s “compare” statement is quite interesting. Huawei hinted that its Luxeed R7 is more competitive than a redesigned Tesla SUV.
Inputs reveal that the redesigned Tesla Model Y SUV will begin shipment in March. The company has started taking pre-orders in certain Asia-Pacific markets though it will launch the car for purchase purposes in a couple of months in China.
Luxeed R7 achievements are touching new heights. The car recently hit a new record of 58000 orders within 100 days. Meanwhile, the company has promised to bring some more dynamic HarmonyOS solutions-powered cars this year.
