Huawei is planning innovative LTPO screen upgrades for the flagship Pura 80 series. A new input shed light on the display specifications of the upcoming smartphone lineup. This time, the OEM may introduce ‘better-than-before’ display changes.

DigitalChatStation reveals the screen specs of the Huawei Pura 80 series. The smartphone lineup may differ from its predecessors in terms of display panel sizes.

Screen Sizes

Pura 80 Pro is expected to feature a 6.6-inch flat screen. Meanwhile, the high-end variants like Pro+ and Ultra may adopt a 6.78-inch equal-depth quad-curved screen. The standard model’s display specs are currently unknown.

Leak shows Pura 80 models slightly smaller than predecessors. However, that won’t affect the display enhancements at all. The tipster reveals that the Pura 80 series will support 1.5K resolution on 2.5D display panels for effective visuals.

8T LTPO Display

The next highlight is the 8T LTPO display panel. The latest leak suggests that the company will use advanced LTPO screen solutions for its upcoming phone lineup.

8T LTPO is not the latest display tech but an advanced solution. It adjusts the refresh rate of a screen as per the content and the finger movements. The tech eventually lowers the refresh rate to even 1Hz when the screen goes in static condition.

The 8T LTPO display relies on a newer circuit design that simplifies switching between different refresh rates. Thus, it saves battery life and enhances power efficiency.

Other benefits include smoother visuals, brighter content, and an impressive viewing experience. Due to auto-adjustments, the display tech also reduces eye strain.

Narrow Four-Frame Design

Pura 80 models may bring an extremely narrow four-frame design. The sides will be quite thin compared to the previous-gen models, improving the grip of these handsets.

The tipster stated that Huawei may adjust the launch time of the new series. The Pura 80 lineup is expected to go official in May or June this year. It would be worth seeing if the company delays or releases the models sooner than expected.
