Huawei could launch its first HarmonyOS notebook in Q2 2025. A new leak says that the company is gearing up the preparations for its self-developed PC operating system. It may debut next month, pre-installed in a new MateBook product.
As noted by tipster @SmartPikachu, Huawei can unveil its first HarmonyOS-powered notebook in Q2 2025. The accurate release time is still uncertain. But a previous revelation hints that consumers don’t have to wait much for this offering.
Early input revealed that Huawei could introduce the HarmonyOS PC next month. The self-developed OS has been in rumors since last year. It seems the company’s first-ever computer software finally reached the end stage of development.
The native PC OS will eventually end Huawei’s dependence on Windows. As per a report, Microsoft’s license to supply Windows OS to the MateBook maker is about to expire. The US is prohibiting the company renew its license due to restrictions.
Huawei has recently launched a new MateBook D 16 notebook running on the Linux operating system. This is the company’s first step for a Windows-free PC line.

In the coming months, the Chinese phone maker could launch more PCs pre-installed with HarmonyOS. One of the company’s senior officials said that the next-gen notebooks won’t rely upon the Windows OS, but HarmonyOS.
