Huawei, BYD, and DJI-built Leopard 8 Drone Edition coming on March 2

Huawei, BYD, and DJI have jointly developed the Leopard 8 Drone Edition, which will debut on March 2. It is the world’s first and latest smart car to use an all-new vehicle-mounted drone system for the best driving experience in every aspect.
BYD and Huawei have been developing new Leopard models for a long while. This time, both companies have collaborated with DJI to build a drone setup for a car.
DJI is a Chinese company that designs and develops drones, camera systems, and other “flight-related” technologies. BYD and DJI together created the world’s first vehicle-mounted drone tech and used it for the Leopard 8 Drone Edition.
The respective technology uses an automotive-grade drone library to support smart storage. It also has an automatic battery replacement and charging management.
BYD and DJI say that the new vehicle-mounted drone system will help the car to obtain one-tap take-off and landing. It uses the industry’s leading sensor chain and offers high-definition, high-frame-rate, and low-latency image transmission.
Meanwhile, Huawei has integrated the latest driving solutions alongside the DJI drone mechanism to the Leopard 8 Drone Edition electric sedan.
What else the companies have used in this ultimate drone-based smart car will be known on March 2. BYD will unveil the device early next month at 19:30 (Beijing Time).
