It’s revealed today that Huawei has started collecting the supply chain order for the cheapest foldable phone of this year. The Chinese tech maker is already running an action-packed year and there’s room for more.

Tipster DigitalChatStation is saying that Huawei has a small foldable-screen phone from the “Pocket” series that could launch soon. Pocket series is a lineup dedicated to flip-style foldable devices.

The phone maker already has two models under this device tree including – the P50 Pocket and Pocket S. However, the “Pocket S” is more pocket-friendly than the P50 Pocket due to specifications differences. But the design of these two models is quite identical.

The tipster added that Huawei has started collecting the production line components and the new device could be unveiled by the end of this year. Meanwhile, this phone has not been named in the leaked information. But we could speculate it to be the Huawei Pocket S2 (tentatively).

Another tipster – Wangzaiknows came up with the information that the new pocket series will be the cheapest foldable phone of 2023. Therefore, customers can definitely wait for this upcoming model.

For now, Huawei has not announced any specifications for the next launch conference.

Last year, Huawei unveiled the Pocket S flip foldable with dual screen solution. The main screen rests inside a 6.9-inch OLED panel with a 120hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. It has a small round OLED cover screen of 1.04 inches with a 60Hz refresh rate.

Once closed, the phone could remain functional with its cover display to check caller ID, control music playback, check time and date, and capture photos with the rear camera.

This new model has an improved hinge system and tested 400,000 times in the lab. The phone also brings unique rear design and color options for the customers.
