Huawei AX3/Pro routers grab HarmonyOS 4.2 closed beta update

Huawei has released the all-new HarmonyOS 4.2 closed beta update for the AX3 and AX3 Pro Wi-Fi routers. The latest OS version is rolling out gradually in China and will soon approach all the eligible units with the newest and most effective benefits.

The Chinese tech giant is serving the latest HarmonyOS 4.2 closed beta update to the Huawei AX3 and AX3 Pro Wi-Fi routers with the 4.2.0.12 (V5R2) build version.

While the update doesn’t count multiple features or changes for the Wi-Fi products, it adds support for IPv6 capability. It is an Internet Protocol version that enables three kinds of communication (unicast, anycast, and multicast) to take place over the network.

Optimizations:

  • After the upgrade, users will be able to use the IPv6 features. One can also log in to the router’s WEB management interface or the routing card of the AI Life application and enter the IPv6 interface via Network Settings to enable/disable it.

  • Enhances the system’s security and stability

How to Update?

Users will require the Huawei AI Life app on their smartphone or tablet to install the latest Wi-Fi router update. Open the app and click on the ‘Routers’ section. Enter the management page and tap the button in the upper right corner. Now hit ‘Join the upgrade trail’.
