Huawei announces ‘Nearlink Search’ feature support for Mate X6
Huawei has announced a new Nearlink Search tool for the Mate X6 foldable. The useful feature has started rolling out and will soon reach the respective phone users. It primarily enhances device location services and makes them efficient.
Nearlink is a new generation of short-range wireless connection technology. It is a set of standards that combines the benefits of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to offer significantly stronger performance than the traditional connectivity methods.
As of now, the company has introduced the Nearlink Search feature for top-end models like the Huawei Mate X6. The capability helps in finding the location of a device as per the indicated direction. It aims to find the phone’s position precisely.
When enabled, the feature will show an arrow housed in a circular frame on the phone’s screen. Users need to lift the device and move it in the indicated direction.
The Nearlink Search helps you to find your phone even when it is switched off. Also known as Power Off Search, the tool supports a search radius of up to 100 meters.

Note that the feature will only work for up to 48 hours after the phone’s turn-off state. Hereafter, it may lose connectivity with the device. To access this capability:
- Open the Settings app
- Go to Huawei Account
- Select the Cloud option > Find Device
Make sure your Huawei Mate X6 is running on the HarmonyOS 4.3.0.155 or the HarmonyOS NEXT 5.0.0.126 version. Apart from the Huawei Mate X6, the feature is compatible with the MatePad Pro 13.2 2025 tablet. It may soon reach more devices.
Other than software version, the Cloud Space should be running on 15.5.0.300 build, Find Device should have the 15.0.0.303 version, Find Network and Nearby Service should be updated to 6.14.1.300 version.
