Huawei and Czech internet giant Seznam has announced a partnership to feature Seznam.cz services pre-installed in new Huawei phones launched in the Czech Republic.
Seznam.cz AKA Seznam is a web portal and search engine in the Czech Republic, till date the company runs more than 15 different web services.
“Huawei and Seznam.cz have agreed on partnerships and cooperation in many areas. Seznam.cz, as a major developer of many mobile applications in the Czech Republic, supports Huawei in building its own application store. The recently introduced P40, P40 Pro and P40 Lite phones are the first models, and we believe that our customers will appreciate it,” Czech News Agency (CTK) quoted Filip Matys, Huawei’s product portfolio manager, as saying on Monday.
The new phones will have access to apps such as Mapy.cz, Novinky.cz, Seznam.cz, Seznam news, Televiz Seznam, Email.cz, and more. These and other selected applications will be available to download from AppGallery.
Also, Huawei is marketing these apps as a potential replacement of Google Mobile Services in the country and has a huge user base. For instance, Mapy.cz has 223 thousand installations, followed by Kupi.cz (100 thousand), TV Seznam (20 thousand), and Seznam.cz (eight thousand installations).
Currently, some of these apps are not yet available on the AppGallery but may soon make their way among users.
“Huawei mobile devices form a large part of the market in the Czech Republic. We are pleased to be able to work together to help us reach other users with List products. This is in line with our mobile strategy, which response to the fact that consumption is increasingly moving entertainment and content from desktop to mobile phones,” said Matěj Hušek, director of content services at Seznam.
