Huawei and Honor widens lead in China’s online smartphone market in Q3 2019

Quarterly report on the Chinese smartphone market announced Huawei as the most dominant smartphone company and accounting 40% of the total market share. Recent research shows that the Chinese tech giant is also leading in the online smartphone markets and widening lead over competitors.

According to the data compiled by Counterpoint, in Q3 online sales in China reached around 27% of China’s overall smartphone market up from 24% in Q1 and Huawei ranked first with 26% online market share, followed by its sub-brand – Honor with 20%.

Huawei along with Honor now controls 46% of the total online smartphone sales market, which surpasses the combined share of Xiaomi (14%), Vivo (10%), Apple (9%) and Oppo  (5%) – 38%.

Counterpoint says that Huawei’s P and Mate series products are performing well among consumers and continue to record market growth.

In a Chinese market report from Canalys for Q3 2019, Huawei has captured 40% of the total Chinese smartphone market and is the only smartphone maker to see business growth.
