On March, 4, 2025, Huawei and China Mobile Henan launched the DC-based New Calling Services at the MWC 2025 event. It works on a thorough province-wide network upgrade and aims to improve the global New Calling industry.
DC, or Data Channel, is an advanced transmission channel connected to IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem). It enlarges the scope of traditional data services in calling.
The DC technology integrates baseband chips and native upper-layer app SDK and enables real-time interaction of data between cloud and users. As a result, New Calling now supports both audio and video calls, as well as interactive engagement.
