Huawei allegedly testing magnetic wireless charging for future smartphones

Huawei is seeking new technologies to make its smartphones more effective, and one such tech is magnetic wireless charging. The company is allegedly testing a new way of charging for its upcoming handsets. But, it could come with drawbacks.
Magnetic wireless is different from wireless or magnetic charging. It fuses the power of both magnets and wireless technology to deliver effective charging.
It mainly refers to wireless charging that uses magnets for alignment and attachment, somewhat similar to Apple’s MagSafe. Although the technology may skip the physical connections with the device by using electromagnetic fields.
The charging position remains fixed, eliminating the need to plug and unplug the charging cable. As a result, it improves the charging stability and also reduces the loss of energy during transmission.
Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation reveals that Huawei is testing a Chinese magnetic wireless charging technology. The aim is to increase the battery life for the device. It can further offer clutter-free charging with overheating preventions.

But a major drawback of this technology is phone size. Magnetic wireless charging requires magnetic components. These parts’ implementation will eventually increase the thickness of the phone by 0.3mm.
To counter this issue, Huawei is also testing a new solution that can prevent unnecessary device thickness due to magnetic wireless charging. Although when these technologies will appear on the company’s sale shelf is currently unknown.
Huawei Magnetic Charging
The Chinese phone maker has a SuperPower Magnetic Power Bank. On the flip side, the company has magnetic covers for its flagship models like Mate 60, Pura 70, and Mate 70 handsets. Now, the company is working on a new initiative.
