Huawei 2nd tri-fold could be coming in September with new camera upgrades

Huawei is already in the buzz for its 2nd tri-fold smartphone, which could debut in September this year. A major reason behind the “in-advance hype” is the rumored upgrades for the triple foldable handset. Let’s check these speculated features.

Weibo tipster @FixedFocus suggested that the Huawei 2nd tri-fold might launch in September 2025. The input has arrived when Samsung is looking for the right moment to unveil its first “triple foldable” device in the consumer market.

Another tipster in the comment section reveals that Huawei is going to add major upgrades to the upcoming tri-folding phone this time. It will not only work on the device’s durability aspects but also performance and camera capabilities.

Inputs reveal that the second Mate XT foldable will probably equip a Kirin 9020 5G chipset. Perhaps the company may power up the phone with an optimized 9020 version. The details are unclear, but we can expect a new chip for the handset.

On the other hand, Huawei’s 2nd tri-fold may feature a multi-spectral lens for improved color accuracy in images. After the Mate 70 series, the tech giant is now implementing the “Red Maple Primary color shooter” in most of its high-end models.

The multi-spectral camera debuted with the Mate 70 lineup. It is capable of capturing image details within a particular wavelength range across the electromagnetic spectrum, including beyond the visible light range.

This mechanism permits the lens to gather more color information than an ordinary RGGB or RYYB sensor. As a result, you will get more realistic and natural shots.

Also, these extra color data in the camera helps it to process the picture with even better precision. Apart from the Mate 70 models, Nova 14, Pura X also use this lens.

Note that these changes are still unconfirmed. Huawei was in rumors to suspend the development of the new-gen triple foldable by next year. But it seems the company has great plans for the respective model and will likely showcase it in H2 2025.
