Honor Play receiving November security patch, hopes for EMUI 10 still high

Honor Play

The debate on Honor Play’s EMUI 10 eligibility is hot among its users and there’s still no official confirmation about its latest OS upgrade status. Meanwhile, Honor has decided to send a new update for this phone, which may open its way to the latest update.

The latest update for Honor Play fixes an issue where performance slows down in certain scenarios and integrates November 2019 security enhancements.

The November 2019 security patch applies fixes to 3 critical, 15 high and 1 medium level of vulnerabilities on Huawei/Honor smartphones.

If you want to check for the update manually you can do this by following the instruction below:

Go to Settings > System > Software update > Check for Updates. If an update is available, it’ll ask if you want to download it.

Or by going to HiCare > Update > Check for updates.

EMUI 10:

Last month, Honor pushed the October patch for Honor Play and the company is now sending a new update for this smartphone one after another.

Giving the fact that Honor Play receives EMUI updates under the quarterly cycle, these two back to back updates still seem strange and raises the hopes for EMUI 10.

Similarly, the same sequence of updates was rolled out for Honor 8X in a single month, which later led to the start of the EMUI 10.0 Beta program. However, we’ll wait for an official confirmation on this subject and keep you updated.
